What is Restorative Dentistry?
Filling
RESTORING YOUR TOOTH
The concept of a “filling” is replacing and restoring your tooth structure that is damaged due
to decay or fracture with a special material and root canal treatment are used differently
in children.
Pulptomy / Pulpectomy
ROOT CANAL THERAPY
In response to a deep cavity or traumatic injury a pulptomy/pulpectomy treatment is usually completed in one appointment.
During the first appointment, the nerve (pulpal tissue) from the small, hollow tube (root canal) located down the center of the tooth, is removed. Then a special medicine is used to seal in the tooth. A permanent filling or crown is then placed on the tooth. The abscessed area at the end of the root (under the gum) will gradually heal. It may take several months for the area to heal completely. The dentist will monitor the healing process by comparing the original X-ray with an X-ray taken following the procedure
Composite Bonding
FIXING CHIPS
Often used to improve the appearance of your teeth and enhance your smile.
Although cosmetic dentistry is common in adults, it is still required in children. It is very familiar to see districted front children’s teeth due to a
case called “Nursing Bottle Mouth Syndrome”, this requires special skills of the pediatric dentist and the co-operation
of the child as well.
